EVANGELIZATION COMMITTEE

Before his Ascension into Heaven, Jesus commissioned his disciples, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." (Mt. 28:19)

The word "evangelization" as found in the Scriptures means "communication of the Good News." Assumption BVM Evangelization team strives to encourage spreading the "Good News" in many ways throughout the year. Specific yearly activities include Semi Annual Door to Door visitation, Distributing flowers tour parishioners who are in Nursing homes. Presence at the Craft Fair with handouts and information, Advent and Lenten religious articles or handouts and a Pentecost celebration of languages and ethnic foods. Outreach to single Moms through our Baby Bottle campaign. Place Parish Mass schedule in local motels/hotels. Occasional activities such as Public Witness over the years have also been done.

The committee meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday, September through June to discuss ways to deepen our understanding of challenges to living the Catholic faith across all age groups. We engage parishioners, coworkers and others in ways to live the Catholic faith more deeply. New energetic members are always welcome!
